Asian Tech Press (Jan 5) -- Sony said it sold more than 30 million units of the PS5 console.
Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), a subsidiary of Sony Corp., announced Wednesday at the Consumer Electronics Show, CES 2023, that sales of the PlayStation 5 game console topped 30 million units as of December 2022, which is about 5 million more than the last sales figure released in November.
"Everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally, starting from this point forward," Ryan said during the CES presentation in Las Vegas.
Sony launched the PlayStation 5 console in November 2020, which the Japanese gaming giant didn't announce was "almost easy to buy" until August 2022.
