Asia Tech Wire (June 17) -- Japan's SoftBank announced a strategic partnership with U.S. artificial intelligence search startup Perplexity on Monday.

Under the partnership, SoftBank will offer one year of free access to Perplexity Pro, a paid subscription service, to select users.

Starting Wednesday, SoftBank will begin accepting usage applications submitted by users of SoftBank, Y!mobile and LINEMO mobile services.
