According to Yonhap News Agency, SK Group expressed in person to Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc its intention to supply vaccines to Vietnam on a priority basis.

SK Group said it would negotiate with the Vietnamese side for priority supply if it could produce its own vaccines in SK Biotech plant in the first quarter of next year.

According to the participants, Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his expectation and asked for technical cooperation on vaccines. SK responded positively on vaccine OEM and technical assistance, indicating its willingness to help Vietnamese pharmaceutical manufacturers upgrade their equipment and technologies and stress that the company will focus its investment in Vietnam on the pharmaceutical industry in the future and identify suitable partners. In addition, SK officials met with Vietnamese Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long on June 25th to discuss vaccine cooperation proposals.
