Asia Tech Wire (June 27) -- Japanese electronics maker Sharp Corp will appointed Young Liu, chairman of parent company Hon Hai, as non-executive chairman.
Sharp decided to adopt a new system by passing a resolution at a general meeting of shareholders and a meeting of the board of directors held on Thursday.
Sharp said the company will strengthen corporate governance through a board of directors that includes six independent outside board members and promote an asset-light strategy.
The company will appoint Young Liu, chairman of Hon Hai, as non-executive chairman to strengthen cooperation with Hon Hai for medium- and long-term development.
