Samsung's new U.S. chip factory potential sites include Williamson County, Texas

Rumors surfaced earlier this year that Samsung Electronics was considering building a chip foundry in the U.S. The investment would be up to $17 billion.

The latest reports indicate that Samsung Electronics is looking for a location to build a new chip factory in the United States, with potential sites including Williamson County, Texas.

The report also mentioned that Samsung Electronics had applied tax incentives to Williamson County to construct the plant. Williamson County is considering giving Samsung a total of $80 million in tax incentives for ten years to build the plant.

In addition to Texas, Samsung Electronics's potential sites for new chip plants in the United States, including Arizona, New York State, and Austin, Texas.

Previously, sources have revealed that Samsung Electronics' new chip factory in the United States is expected to be built in Austin, Texas. Samsung Electronics currently has a chip factory in operation there, constructed and put into operation in 1996, with a new factory built in 2007 and an expansion in 2017.
