According to Economic Daily News, Samsung is expanding its production capacity in Korea. Samsung's new wafer production line in Pyeongtaek to operate in June in response to demand from Qualcomm, and Tesla.
Samsung expects that the new production line of the Pyeongtaek plant will start operation in the second half of June to meet the demand of the next-generation products from customers such as Nvidia, Qualcomm, Tesla, and others, as well as the increased demand for cryptocurrency mining.
The new plant will also expand its 5nm EUV capacity, estimated to increase the related foundry capacity by 20,000 wafers.
