Jan.10,2022

Asian Tech Press (Jan 10) -- According to media reports, Samsung will set up a special division in China to study the Chinese market in order to redeem the market.

To boost its business in China, South Korea's Samsung Electronics has created a new division specifically for this purpose. The organization is under the direct supervision of the division head that oversees smartphones and home appliances and is primarily responsible for marketing strategy. The department will analyze China's unique business habits and consumer preferences to compete with local brands in various areas such as smartphones, TVs and home appliances.

According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung had the No. 1 share of the smartphone market in China in 2014 with 20 percent. However, with the rise of domestic phones such as Huawei, Xiaomi and OPPO, Samsung's share in the Chinese market is now down to 1 percent.
