Asian Tech Press (Mar. 8) -- Samsung Electronics said Monday that the recent hacking attack did not cause the leakage of user information.

Samsung issued an internal announcement on the same day that the leaked information included part of the source code needed to run the Galaxy phones, but did not cover the personal information of its customers and employees.

The phone maker said the company's business was not affected, and apologized for causing public concern.

South American hacker group Lapsus$ on Saturday said it had obtained a batch of nearly 190GB of information from Samsung, including algorithms for biometric unlocking of the device and source code for some basic services.
