Samsung Partners with Synopsys to Accelerate ISO 26262 Compliance for Automotive SoCs
Oct.27,2021

Asian Tech Press (OCT 27) -- Synopsys announced that Samsung Foundry and Synopsys are collaborating on the VC Functional Safety Manager ("VC FSM") solution to provide key automation technologies for Functional Safety Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Mode Effects Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA) for automotive SoCs.

Based on the differentiated features of VC FSM for safety analysis, verification and implementation, Samsung and Synopsys have partnered to advance VC FSM as part of Synopsys' unified functional safety solution, enabling developers to ensure their chip safety architecture meets Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) targets from the planning and implementation stages. With VC FSM, customers can perform early analysis of the immediate impact of ISO 26262 metric design changes, automate fault injection activities to enable functional safety verification, and synchronize tracking and documentation of functional safety analysis with requirements management to achieve ISO 26262 compliance faster.
