Asian Tech Press (Dec 06) -- Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong will visit the Middle East on Monday, according to Yonhap News Agency. The company said this is the latest move to resume the company's global network operations and seek new business opportunities.
Lee Jae-yong will travel to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to restore the previously disconnected global network and expand new businesses.
In February 2019, Lee Jae-yong met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to discuss ways to expand information and technology cooperation and expand Samsung's foothold in the high-end smartphone market. In September of the same year, he visited the company's metro construction site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to check on the project's progress, which is the first public transportation construction project in Saudi Arabia.
Last month, Samsung C&T, the construction company of the Samsung Group, signed a memorandum of understanding cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia to work closely in energy, urban and infrastructure development.
