South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. is rapidly expanding its share of the automotive chip market.

According to industry sources, Samsung Electronics' Samsung System LSI business unit has been supplying Volkswagen with its latest system chip, Exynos Auto, for in-car information and entertainment systems since the beginning of this year.
