Asian Tech Press (Dec 15) -- According to media reports, Samsung Electronics recently established a robot business team with plans to increase investment and actively promote the commercialization of home robots.
It is reported that Samsung Electronics upgraded a robot commercialization working group to an official organization and named it the robot business team, which had previously been an unofficial unit. The working group previously advanced two robot projects, Samsung Bot Care, a care service robot, and Samsung Bot Handy, a home service robot.
Samsung Electronics is expected to invest aggressively in the robotics sector and push forward with mergers and acquisitions. Lee Jae-yong has said he will invest 240 trillion won in future technologies such as robotics, system semiconductors, biotechnology and AI in the next three years. The company is expected to launch a home robot that can be used in connection with smartphones and home appliances.
