Asian Tech Press (Mar. 7) --South Korean giant Samsung Electronics has been attacked by the hacker group Lapsus$, resulting in the leakage of a large amount of confidential data.
The nearly 190 GB of data was split into three compressed files and made available for download via a peer-to-peer network.
The data included algorithms for biometric unlocking of the device, source code for some basic services, and even confidential source code from Qualcomm. But the hacking group has not mentioned ransom for now, nor has it indicated any type of communication with Samsung.
Lapsus$ also previously attacked U.S. chip giant Nvidia, stealing some of its important information and demanding that Nvidia remove the mining hashrate limiters on the company's RTX 3000-series graphics cards and open source graphics card drivers.
