SA: Samsung Wins Almost Half of the Smartphone Memory Market in Q1 2021

Samsung Electronics is the world's largest memory chip manufacturer. Its market share in both DRAM (Dynamic random-access memory) and NAND flash memory is higher than other manufacturers.

Research firm Strategy Analysis's report shows that Samsung Electronics accounted for 49% of the global smartphone memory chip market in the first quarter of this year, gaining nearly half the share.

The report also said that the global sales of smartphone memory chips reached $11.4 billion in the first quarter of this year, up 21% from $9.4 billion in the same period last year.

Samsung Electronics' market share in DRAM and NAND flash memory sectors in the first quarter was 54% and 42%, respectively.
