Asian Tech Press (Apr. 14) -- South Korea's antitrust regulator has started a review of Microsoft's buyout of U.S. game developer Activision Blizzard.
The Korea Fair Trade Commission (FTC) said Thursday it plans to see if the merger of the two U.S. firms could hurt competition in the online game market.
In January, Microsoft announced the acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion in an all-cash deal, with the aim of boosting its gaming business across mobile, PC, console and cloud, and helping building blocks for the metaverse.
