South Korea will launch 14 communication satellites by 2031 to lead 6G satellite communication applications.
In January 2019, LG Electronics, a subsidiary of LG Group, announced that they have established a 6G R&D center in the Korea Institute of Science and Technology in Daejeon City, joining hands with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology to conduct research and development of connectivity technologies in 5G and 6G. In June of that year, Samsung also upgraded its internal next-generation mobile communications research group to a research center to conduct research and development of core 6G technologies.
