Asian Tech Press (SEP 09) -- According to media reports, Russian tech giant Yandex said Wednesday that it plans to start testing driverless cars in Moscow this year.

Russian multinational corporation Yandex N.V. offers a range of services from online search to food delivery and has been testing self-driving technology in Russia, Israel and the United States for over three years. Users can enjoy driverless cabs in Moscow through the company's Yandex.Go app, the company said in a statement.

Yandex's 170 driverless cars are reported to have driven more than 14 million kilometers. Through a partnership with GrubHub, an online food ordering company, Yandex has launched automated food delivery robots on several college campuses in the United States.
