Qualcomm announced that it would launch a new Snapdragon Wear processor for smartwatches next year.

In a different announcement, Qualcomm introduced its wearable ecosystem acceleration initiative, designed to help OEMs accelerate the development and commercialization of wearable devices.

Qualcomm will act as a middleman, connecting wearable hardware/software vendors, component suppliers, and system integrators with OEMs, ODMs, operators, and platform participants to discuss industry trends, host training sessions, demonstrate concepts, and collaborate with other member companies to develop new products.
