Porsche recalls 17,278 units of imported Taycan electric cars in China
Jul.5,2024

Asia Tech Wire (July 5) -- Porsche is recalling 17,278 imported Taycan electric cars in China, according to a notice on the official website of China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR).

The notice stated that Porsche's Chinese sales subsidiary has filed a recall plan with the regulator.

Beginning August 31, 2024, the German automaker will recall a portion of the imported Taycan series of electric vehicles manufactured between January 7, 2020 and April 24, 2024, totaling 17,278 units.

Due to the design of these vehicles, cracks may appear in the front brake hoses, leading to brake fluid leakage, which causes a reduction in braking effectiveness, longer braking distances. The defect increases the risk of the vehicles experiencing a collision.

The Porsche subsidiary will commission authorized dealers to replace the optimized front axle brake hoses for the recalled vehicles free of charge.
