Asian Tech Press (Nov 10) -- Porsche 911 sports car will reportedly be electrified, combining high performance and efficiency.

Porsche AG, part of the Volkswagen Group, its CEO Oliver Blume said at an automotive industry conference in Ludwigsburg that the company plans to electrify the 911 sports car, German newspaper Automobilwoche reported Wednesday.

Blume noted, "It will not be a plug-in hybrid vehicle, but a hybrid one from motorsport that combines high performance and high efficiency."

However, Blume did not specify a schedule for the full electrification of the 911 sports car.
