Polestar, the premium electric vehicle brand of the Geely Group, has announced that its first all-electric SUV, the Polestar 3, will be produced in the United States.

Polestar, a high-performance electric vehicle brand jointly owned by Volvo Group and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, currently has two production models, Polestar 1 and Polestar 2.

Production of the Polestar 3 is scheduled to begin in 2022 at Volvo's plant in Ridgeville. S.C. Polestar cars built in South Carolina will be sold in the United States and exported to other countries.

The Polestar 3 will be the first model produced by the Polestar brand in the U.S., which will probably go on sale in the U.S. by the end of 2022.
