According to media reports, Tesla's battery supplier Panasonic is preparing to install a new electric vehicle battery production line at Tesla's Nevada gigafactory. The company expects that this new battery line will start operating as early as August 2021.
Panasonic, which makes batteries for Tesla's electric vehicles and energy storage products, is a partner in Tesla's Gigafactory 1 in Nevada. So far, the company has produced batteries in Japan for the Tesla Model S and Model X.
Earlier, it was reported that the company planned to expand the capacity of its Nevada gigafactory by 10 percent this year. Now, the company says that once the new production line is installed in the Nevada gigafactory, the plant will have a 38-39 GWh capacity.
