As OnePlus is settling down(pun intended) to become a major brand that produces somewhat "normal" phones other than flagship killers, enthusiasts and the industry is intently waiting for OnePlus's former director and co-founder Carl Pei's next move.
Tomorrow, the former OnePlus executive will launch a new company and we will finally know what he has in tow for the future.
The new company is headquartered in London and the announcement will start at 11 am UK time.
According to GizChina, the company is working on consumer electronics; however, it will not be directly related to smartphones. The focus will be on music gadgets such as headphones, speakers, and more.
The company already received over $7 million in seed funding from some high profile investors such as Ton Fadell, the inventor of the iPod.
Pei was the co-founder of the company and worked alongside Pete Lau since the first OnePlus phone that came out. After many years working to expand the brand, Pei left in October to move on to a new venture.
We don’t really know the real purpose behind’s Pei decision of leaving OnePlus. According to an interview with Wired, Pei stated that “by turning a blank page, I can be a lot more creative with what I choose to spend my time on”. Perhaps he wants to bring new products without having to follow an established legacy.
