NTT intends to cooperate with Fujitsu, which specializes in optical technology, in developing equipment using photoelectric fusion technology.

NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation) has proposed the Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN) concept, which aims to reduce power consumption to one-100th of the current level and expand transmission capacity to 125 times by integrating optical and electrical signals with photoelectric fusion technology, with 6G to reach practical levels by the 2030s.
