Asian Tech Press -- Finnish telecom giant Nokia Oyj (NOKIA: Helsinki) tweeted on Monday to announce an agreement with Taiwan Star Telecom (TST), a Taiwan-based mobile network operator, to expand its 5G installed base.
Nokia announced a new 5G contract with TST in May 2020. Under the contract, Nokia, as the exclusive supplier for the deal, will provide TST with an end-to-end AirScale radio portfolio to help the operator roll out 5G non-standalone (NSA) and lay a good foundation for future 5G standalone (SA) network.
The network expansion deal continues long-standing partnership between Nokia and Taiwan Star Telecom, and facilitates the latter's 5G deployment across Taiwan.
