Asian Tech Press (Dec 16) -- Nissan plans to build new battery recycling plants in the U.S. and Europe by the end of fiscal year 2025.

With the price of rare metals rising, Nissan wants to recycle batteries and reuse them in electric vehicles, which will help reduce production costs.

The plants will be the first battery recycling facilities Nissan has built outside Japan. Nissan announced a push for electrification last month, pledging to invest 2 trillion yen over five years to increase vehicle electrification. Nissan said it plans to launch 23 electrified vehicles, including 15 electric vehicles, by 2030.
