Nissan Motor to slash Japanese production in May due to chip shortage
Apr.16,2021

Japan’s third-largest automaker Nissan Motor will slash production at several domestic Japanese plants next month, three people familiar with the matter told Reuters on Thursday.

The production cut would become the latest case that automakers are hit by the global semiconductor shortage.

Nissan will suspend production at its plant in Kyushu, southern Japan, for eight days between May 10 and 19, the sources said.
