Asian Tech Press -- Chinese EVs manufacturer Nio Inc. (NYSE: NIO) announced on Thursday that the first NIO ES8s were shipped from Shanghai to Norway on July 20, and is expected to be available for pre-order and delivery in Norway in September.
ES8, Nio's smart electric flagship SUV, had received the European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (EWVTA) last month.
The first batch of battery exchange station equipment and supercharging piles were also shipped by Nio in early July and are expected to arrive in Norway in early August.
The home charging and supercharging piles will be delivered to Norwegian customers in September this year. The first four exchange stations will also be completed and put into service within the year, the first time that the Chinese EV maker has deployed exchange stations overseas.
By 2025, Nio plans to deploy more than 4,000 stations worldwide, with approximately 1,000 outside of China, the company said.
