Nintendo Switch finally supports Bluetooth headphones
Sep.16,2021

Asian Tech Press (SEP 16) -- Nintendo has announced that Bluetooth audio support has been added to Switch through a software update. After the update is completed, the long-missing feature will finally be available for Switch players.

According to Nintendo, users can manage the Switch's Bluetooth devices and use Bluetooth headphones on the settings page after the system update.

However, there are still some limitations, as listed below:

  1. The system can only support up to two wireless controllers connections if there's a Bluetooth headphone attached.
  2. The system can only pair one Bluetooth audio device at a time and can save Bluetooth pairing records for up to 10 devices.
  3. Audio latency may be encountered depending on the Bluetooth device used by the player.
  4. Bluetooth microphones are not yet supported.

It is worth mentioning that the Switch OLED version will be officially released on October 8. The new version will have a 7-inch OLED screen, 64GB storage, SD card expansion support, a wired LAN interface added to the dock, and a new adjustable angle stand and new speakers. However, there is no upgrade in terms of CPU and RAM.
