Asian Tech Press (Nov 9) -- Japanese video game company Nintendo Co Ltd said it's holding off on raising prices of the Switch console.
According to Nintendo's latest earnings results, the company shipped 3.22 million Switch consoles in its fiscal second quarter ended September 30, 2022, with cumulative sales of more than 114.33 million units.
However, the Japanese company has lowered its sales forecast for the Switch console in fiscal year 2022 from 21 million units to 19 million units, citing chip shortage issues.
Bloomberg reporter Takashi Mochizuki disclosed on Tuesday that Nintendo said on a conference call that it would not raise Switch prices at this moment, but would "continue monitoring situation and carefully consider" whether it needed to take such actions.
