(Asian Tech Press) Netherlands-based semiconductor manufacturer Nexperia, a subsidiary of Chinese tech firm Wingtech Technology Co.,Ltd, announced Thursday the launch of a new 8-inch wafer production line in Manchester, UK.

The company said the first products will be low RDS(on), low Qrr 80 V and 100 V MOSFETs using its latest NextPower silicon technology.

Nexperia's new line will immediately expand its capacity, and the new PSMN3R9-100YSF (100 V) and PSMN3R5-80YSF (80 V) devices will feature industry’s lowest Qrr Figure of Merit (RDS(on) x Qrr).

Mike Becker, Nexperia’s product manager, said it would be good news for global buyers that the company has invested to increase capacity amid global chip shortage.
