Asian Tech Press (Nov 1) -- Meta, rebranded from Facebook, is the world's largest VR device supplier, with shipments expected to reach 9 million units in 2021, according to a report released Monday by TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo noted that new head-mounted displays from Meta, Apple and Sony will all be equipped with Wi-Fi 6/6E in 2022.

The analyst also expects Meta to reach 1 billion meta-universe users within 10 years and that the Wi-Fi supply chain will benefit significantly from such a trend.

Meta has launched Oculus Air Link in 2Q21, allowing the most popular Oculus Quest series to connect to PCs via Wi-Fi instead of wired connections.
