Asia Tech Wire (Aug 8) -- SAIC Motor-owned MG Motor plans to bring Chinese premium smart electric brand IM to Mexico.

MG said in a statement Wednesday that it plans to establish a Latin American hub in Mexico, including a car factory and a research and development center.

This will not only produce cars locally, but also generate market intelligence exclusively for Latin America, Zhang Wei, head of MG's Mexican operations, said in the statement.

The company also plans to bring IM, SAIC's premium smart electric brand, to Mexico.
