LG Energy Solution revealed at the 2021 China Automotive Forum that it is developing a new generation of batteries. These include all-solid-state batteries with better safety performance of polymers and sulfides, which will strive for mass production in 2026 and will be expected to be used in electric vehicles and aircraft.

The higher energy density and lighter design of lithium-sulfur batteries will be suitable for aerial scenarios such as remote-controlled aircraft and drones, thus diversifying the battery application scenarios.
