LG Electronics announced its financial results, initially verifying that its operating profit for the second quarter increased 65.5% year-on-year to 1.1128 trillion won. Sales increased 48.4% year-on-year to 17.1101 trillion won, both hitting a 12-year high compared to the same period.

Its H1 operating profit (over 2.6 trillion won) also hit a record high. The company did not disclose the results of each division. Still, the securities community speculated that LG Electronics' sales of high-end products such as OLED TVs jumped 198 percent year-on-year to 943,000 units in the second quarter. (Yonhap)
