JD.com to halt cross-border B2C platform Joybuy's English and Russian sites
Nov.26,2021

Asian Tech Press (Nov 26) -- Joybuy, a cross-border B2C platform owned by Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com Inc, announced on Wednesday that it will shut down its English and Russian websites in December.

In the notice, Joybuy said it will stop the operations of its existing business on English website www.joybuy.com and Russian website www.jd.ru on December 9, 2021, and will terminate cooperation with merchants on the two websites.

Joybuy specifically pointed out that the termination of cooperation is only for its online trading business, does not affect the sales of merchants on third-party platforms.

The cross-border B2C platform was launched in 2015, and both the English and Russian sites were established in the same year. It contains the English version www.joybuy.com, the Russian version www.jd.ru and the Spanish version www.joybuy.es.

JD.com responded that Joybuy will be upgraded to a cross-border B2B trading and service platform.

Sources related to the e-commerce giant's international business stressed that the upgraded Joybuy will continue to serve cross-border e-commerce users, with JD.com's capacity for digital supply chain to help domestic and foreign cross-border small and medium-sized sellers and buyers.
