Asian Tech Press (Dec 27) -- According to media reports, Tesla battery supplier Panasonic, is building a new campus near Tesla's gigafactory in Nevada with plans to be operational next spring.
The campus Panasonic is building is in Reno, Nevada, just 25 miles from Tesla's Nevada gigafactory.
Panasonic has announced on its official website that the building for the new Panasonic North America campus is not a new build, but a renovation of a building owned by industrial real estate investor Industrial Realty Group, and that the time required to build the new campus will be significantly reduced as a result.
The new campus, when completed, will belong to Panasonic Energy North America, which is a subsidiary of Panasonic North America, Inc.
According to Panasonic's plans, the new campus, when completed, will have advanced engineering laboratories, employee recruitment and training facilities. In the report, foreign media said that this campus will be used for training, research and development, employee recruitment, etc., and has other support functions.
