Asia Tech Wire (Nov 6) -- Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has issued a license to U.S. startup Joby Aviation to test-fly air taxis via remote control.
This is the first time that the Japanese regulator has issued a test-flight license for a flying car.
Joby, which previously received funding from Toyota Motor, conducted a test flight in late October.
Founded in 2009, Joby is a company developing electric air taxis for commercial passenger service.
