Asia Tech Wire (Oct 8) -- The Japanese government seeks to support the development of homegrown "unbreakable" quantum encryption technology by 2030, according to Nikkei.
And it hopes to enlist potential partners, including Toshiba and NEC, to defend against next-generation cyberattacks.
Tuesday's report said Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will provide assistance to selected quantum encryption developers, which will include tens of billions of yen in public and private investment over five years starting in fiscal year 2025, with applications to begin as early as next year.
