Japan Airlines (JAL) has decided to take over the Japanese unit of Chinese low-cost carrier (LCC) Spring Airlines as a consolidated subsidiary.
JAL plans to contribute additional billions of Japanese Yen to acquire a majority stake in the company in June.
Spring Airlines Japan was established by China's Spring Airlines in 2012 and focussed primarily on the Japan-China market offering domestic flights from Tokyo Narita to cities including Sapporo Chitose, Hiroshima, and Saga, and routes between China and Japan such as Narita-Tianjin and Narita-Harbin.
