Asian Tech Press (Nov 19) -- LG Innotek, a subsidiary of South Korea's LG, is reportedly looking to buy LG Electronics' A3 plant in Gumi, South Korea, for a stable production line as Apple's orders for camera modules continue to increase.

Sources said that negotiations between the two sides are underway and the acquisition is expected to be completed in the first half of next year.

LG Electronics has three factories in Gumi, South Korea - A1, A2 and A3. Apple has asked LG Innotek to increase the production of components because of difficulties in obtaining parts from factories in Southeast Asia due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
