According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai Motor Group has acquired an 80 percent stake in Boston Dynamics from Japan's SoftBank Group.
Specifically, group chairman Chung Eui-sun invested 249 billion won of his private property in acquiring a 20 percent stake in Boston Dynamics, with Hyundai Motor and its subsidiaries Hyundai Mobis and Hyundai Glovis holding 30 percent, 20 percent, and 10 percent of the company's shares, respectively. As a result, Hyundai holds 80% of Boston Dynamics, and SoftBank holds 20%. The market value of Boston Dynamics was valued at about $1.1 billion in the corporate merger.
