Asia Tech Wire (June 14) -- Huawei's HarmonyOS has overtaken Apple's iOS to become the second largest operating system in China, according to research firm Counterpoint.
The latest data from Counterpoint shows that the Android operating system took the top spot with 68% of the Chinese smartphone market's sales share in the first quarter of 2024.
HarmonyOS' market share in China rose from 8% in Q1 2023 to 17% in Q1 2024, while iOS share fell from 20% to 16%.
This means that for the first time, HarmonyOS has overtaken iOS to become the second largest operating system in China.
