Hong Kong regulator mulls approval of ether ETF staking
May.24,2024

Asia Tech Wire (May 24) -- A Hong Kong regulator is considering allowing ethereum ETF staking, according to Bloomberg.

Citing sources, the report said that Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has been in discussions with cryptocurrency ETF issuers, regarding the provision of staking services through licensed platforms.

However, the discussions are still ongoing and there is no clear timeline.

If the SFC ultimately approves it, staking gains could spur demand for spot cryptocurrency ETFs in Hong Kong.
