Asia Tech Wire (Apr 30) -- Google has faced a class action lawsuit over alleged copyright infringement of its AI model Imagen.
Three cartoonists and a photographer have filed a class action complaint against Google in a California court.
They said Google violated copyright law by using billions of copyrighted works, including theirs, to train its Imagen AI model.
Launched in 2023, Imagen is a text-to-image generative model.
The lawsuit alleges that Google and its parent company Alphabet Inc., "commercially benefits from these acts of massive copyright infringement."
