GM to launch 10 EV models in South Korea by 2025
Nov.12,2021

Asian Tech Press (Nov 12) -- According to Steve Kiefer, head of GM's international business, the corporation aims to launch ten electric vehicle models in South Korea by 2025, but no plans to build them in the country at this moment.

Last year, GM warned that ongoing labor unrest in South Korea was preventing it from investing more in the country. The company presently manufactures electric vehicles in the United States and China, with aspirations to expand to Mexico and Canada.

GM's Korean affiliate produces around 600,000 automobiles each year, with the majority of them going to the US market. Last year, the company employed nearly 12,000 workers and reported an operational deficit of 309 billion won (about $262 million).
