Asia Tech Wire (June 14) -- Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. (GAC Group)'s electric vehicle unit Aion announced on Friday that it will formally set up a cyber whistle-blowing center from now on.
The cyber whistle-blowing center will accept complaints and reports from netizens, collect clues and evidence of insults, defamation, rumors and slander against GAC Aion, and crack down on cyber infringements.
The company said, "GAC Aion will give a reward of up to 1 million yuan according to the value of the clues or evidence that are verified by the cyber whistle-blowing center to be true, valid, from legitimate sources and recognized by the judicial authorities."
On Thursday, GAC Aion denied rumors that it would lay off 20% of its workforce as well as terminate all the tripartite/party agreements it had signed with fresh graduates.
The company also said at the time that it had reported the case to public security authorities.
