Asia Tech Wire (July 16) -- France's antitrust regulator confirmed Monday that it is investigating Nvidia for alleged anticompetitive behavior.

Benoit Coeure, chairman of the French Competition Authority, said on the sidelines of a news conference on Monday that the agency would sue Nvidia if the investigation progressed.

Earlier this month, news broke that the U.S. chipmaker was under review by the French antitrust regulator and could face antitrust prosecution.

And last September, French law enforcement officials raided the offices of a company suspected of anti-competitive behavior in the graphic processing unit (GPU) industry.

Afterward, Nvidia admitted it was under scrutiny in France and other countries.
