Facebook partners with BMW to test smart glasses in cars

Asian Tech Press (Oct 29) -- Facebook, now known as Meta Platforms, Inc., has reportedly announced a partnership with German automaker BMW to test its smart glasses in cars.

The tech giant is still working on making AR-enabled and AI-assisted smart glasses, and has announced plans to field-test its Project Aria smart glasses with cameras and sensors in more locations, in addition to testing its neural input wristbands, media website CNET reported Thursday.

Notably, the environment for testing the smart glasses includes inside a car. Facebook has newly announced a partnership with BMW that will explore how AR glasses can be integrated with cars and how they can be used in a moving vehicle.
