Asian Tech Press (SEP 28) -- According to media reports, Ferrari and its parent company Exor have announced that they will embark on a multi-year collaboration with LoveFrom that will include the first electric car for the Ferrari brand.
LoveFrom is a company founded in 2019 by former Apple designer Jony Ive and designer Marc Newson.
A Ferrari spokesman said the two designers, Ive and Newson, will have a broad remit involving car design and other businesses, including fashion.
As part of a broad alliance between the former Apple designer and Exor, Jony Ive will work with Ferrari to help the latter develop its first electric car, the report said.
Jony Ive worked at Apple for 27 years, leaving the company in 2019. During his 27 year tenure at Apple, he worked closely with Steve Jobs on a range of products, including the iMac, iPod, iPhone and MacBook, which catapulted Apple from technology laggard to the world's most valuable company.
In April, John Elkann, who runs the Exor Group, announced that Ferrari will launch its first all-electric car in 2025, which he called "a milestone in the company's history."
